Attention is directed to the assessment date of taxable personal property in the Town of Ledyard on October 1, 2020. State Statute requires all persons (resident and nonresident) of taxable personal property in the Town of Ledyard to file with the Assessor a sworn declaration of all such personal property owned or leased by them on the 1st day of October 2020.
Personal property consists of non-registered and out of state motor vehicles; trailers; horses; ponies; construction equipment; machinery; commercial furniture, fixtures and equipment, electronic data processing equipment, farm and mechanic’s machinery and tools, consumable supplies and all other taxable property not mentioned. Declaration forms have been mailed to all parties appearing on the 2019 Grand List and must be returned by November 2, 2020. Forms for new businesses are available from the Assessor’s Office upon request. Failure to file such a declaration by November 2nd will result in an additional 25% penalty.
Assessor’s Office at the Town Hall is open Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays, 7:30am to 4:45pm.
