COLONEL CLASSIC 5K RACE—TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR SATURDAY May 13, 2017


On Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 9:30 AM, the Colonel Classic 5K Road Race will be held in Ledyard.

This event will cause a temporary closure of Colonel Ledyard Highway between Lambtown Road and Gallup Hill Road, which is expected to last for approximately 45 minutes.

Motorists should expect minor delays in the area and are encouraged to plan accordingly. Motorists and residents on Colonel Ledyard Highway, Applewood Drive, Lucienne Way, Whipple Road, and Maple Terrace should expect minor delays in the area and are asked to use caution for the safety of participants

in the event.


Ledyard Police will be on scene conducting traffic management activities for the safety of all.

Southbound traffic from Ledyard Center on Colonel Ledyard Highway will be detoured onto Gallup Hill Road and northbound traffic from Groton will be detoured onto Lambtown Road. We appreciate your cooperation to make this a safe and successful event.
