Eversource will be constructing a new line extension on Stoddard’s Wharf Road from Avery Hill Road west to Route 12, and re-conductoring (new overhead wire and poles) between Whalehead Road and Avery Hill Road.
The project was developed to improve system reliability on two Gales Ferry circuits serving Route 12 up to Preston and Stoddards Wharf Road into Ledyard Center. We will also be installing two new automatic devices which will create a back up power between each circuit.
The project is designed and construction is slated to begin in May of 2016 and complete by the end of September, 2016. There will also be extensive tree trimming along the same route which will begin ahead of construction.
