Residents are encouraged to place leaves in an appropriate place. This may be a suitable spot on one’s own property; dumping them on another’s property or in any other portion of the Town right-of-way is likewise prohibited. Also, the Town’s curbside collection contract has a provision for pick-up of leaves in an unlimited quantity, as long as properly placed at the curbside in biodegradable paper “leaf” bags.These bags are commercially available and also available for purchase at the Ledyard Town Hall or at both Town libraries. Residents may also dispose of leaves at the Ledyard Transfer Station at no charge, as long as either loose or in biodegradable bags.
