[ARCHIVED] Message From Your Acting Mayor

Message from your acting mayor: The public works crew worked 36 hours straight and it was necessary to have them start working shifts in order for them to get much needed rest. I know it is especially frustrating if you are on a cul de sac or lightly traveled road. They will continue working today but please understand it may take days to get things back to normal. I have lived in town since 1972 and this is an unprecedented storm. On a personal note, my oil company delivery man tells me our roads are better than many. Mark Bankroft, the mayor's assistant is keeping up and returning all phone calls and I will keep you updated in the social spaces online. CL&P promises a large crew today for those of us without power. Please keep the family who lost their home to fire at 12 Nutmeg Drive in your prayers. - Linda Davis
