Mr. Nelson joined the Navy on May 28, 2001 and served 17+ years on submarines. Mr. Nelson served in the following Commands; USS Memphis SSN 691, Naval Submarine School, USS Norfolk SSN714, Submarine Learning Center and USS Pittsburgh. David moved to Ledyard in 2014 and is an active member of the community as a coach for Baseball, Football, and Basketball as well as Scout Leader/Master. Mr. Nelson joined the VFW in 2019 where he is very active in his post and was selected as the District Commander for 2022/2023. David is committed to serving the Veteran community in Gales Ferry/Ledyard.
