Larceny Of Cash Register
On April 14, 2013 at 0607 hours the Ledyard Police Department received a report of a cash register being stolen from the restaurant at the Two Trees Hotel on Indiantown Road in Ledyard. Investigation by the Ledyard Police Department found that at approximately 4:30 a.m. 2 males entered the Grill at Two Trees and removed the cash register. The men then placed the register into the trunk of a vehicle in the parking lot and took a shuttle bus back to the Foxwoods casino.

The males were arrested a short time later when they returned to the vehicle. Sean P. Coyne DOB 12/26/1991 of 40 Zeller Street Boston, Ma and Joseph B. Haugh DOB 06/10/1991 of 36 Desoto Road West Roxbury, MA were both arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree and Larceny 3rd degree. They will appear at GA 10 New London on 04/29/2013.

Investigation Into Origin & Cause of Brush Fire
On Sunday April 28, 2013 at approximately 1:12 p.m. a brush fire was reported in a wooded area off Captain Amos Streetanton Road in Ledyard. The Ledyard Fire Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, as well as brush fire units from the Old Mystic, Center Groton, North Streetonington, and Mohegan Fire Company responded. After a short time the incident was brought under control and damage limited to the wooded area. Evidence recovered at the scene indicates that the fire was not accidental and the Office of the Ledyard Fire Marshal, along with the Ledyard Police Department, are investigating. Based upon the investigation into the origin and cause of the above mentioned brush fire, 2 juveniles (1 fifteen and 1 fourteen) were referred to the Superior Court for juvenile matters both for the charge of Reckless Burning.
