Criminal Impersonation
On July 21, 2008 the Ledyard Police Department arrested Slone M. Williams (date of birth December 20, 1985) of 23 Noyes Ave Pawcatuck, Connecticut, at G.A. 10 in New London. Williams was charged with Criminal Impersonation, Forgery 2nd degree, and Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested and presented in court.
The accused was stopped on June 24, 2008, while operating a motor vehicle on Route 2 in Ledyard. He was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. While under arrest, he provided information to police indicating that his name was Maurice Bell, and completed state paperwork indicating that was his identity. Subsequent investigation by the Ledyard Police Department established that the individual was in fact Slone Williams and an arrest warrant was issued.
Burglary
The Ledyard Police Department is investigating a residential burglary which occurred on July 23, 2008, at Number 16 Jessica Lane in Ledyard, Connecticut. At some point during the day on July 23, 2008, someone entered the home and stole numerous computer and electronic items. Warrant Sweep
On July 25, 2008, officers from the Ledyard Police Department teamed with parole officers from the State of Connecticut to conduct a sweep for people for whom warrants had been issued by the Superior Court for the crime of failure to appear in court. During the course of this sweep, 4 individuals with a total of 9 arrests warrants were arrested.
