On February 24, 2010 at approximately 1:35pm the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle on Highland Drive. On arrival Officers found a male victim with non life threatening injury, and no vehicle. He was transported to the WW Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment of his injuries. Subsequent investigation found that the male victim had been struck by a vehicle operated by his girfriend after a domestic dispute. A short time later the female, Emily Greenan DOB 07/13/1981 of 62 Highland Drive in Ledyard, turned herself into Police. She was taken into custody and charged with Assault in the 2nd degree, Reckless Endangerment, and Reckless driving. She was released after posting a $10,000 bond with a court date at GA 10 New London

On February 25, 2010 at 1027hrs an employee of the McDonalds Restaurant located at 1678 Route 12 in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard called 911 to report that a male was inside the establishment threatening to do harm to those in the restaurant. While Police responded, workers stated that the male had left in a vehicle. A short time later that vehicle was stopped on Route 12 in the City of Norwich. The accused, Steven Tingen DOB 09/15/1977, of Summitwoods drive in Norwich, was taken into custody without incident. Tingen was charged by the Ledyard Police Department with Threatening and Breach of Peace and held in lieu of $10,000 bond.

On February 28, 2010 at 2026hrs the Ledyard Police Department was notified of a motor vehicle accident having occurred on RT 214 (Indiantown Rd) near Saw Mill Dr. Arriving Officers found a 2009 Hyundai Alantra which had overturned and slid down RT 214, striking a utility pole causing wires to come down into the roadway, while also damaging the service to at least two homes. Officers found that the operator of the vehicle was attempting to flee the scene on foot, but were able to detain him without incident. With the assistance of the Ledyard Fire Co #1 the scene was secured and the roadway closed until utility companies could make repairs to secure the lines. Subsequent investigation learned that the vehicle operator had taken the car without the owners permission and that the accident resulted from the vehicle traveling too fast for the conditions of the roadway. James K. Harrington DOB 08/25/1981 of 73 Vinegar Hill Rd in Gales Ferry was arrested and charged with Using a motor vehicle without the owners permission, Criminal Trover in the 2nd degree, Operating with a suspended license, and traveling too fast for conditions. Harrington was transported by American Ambulance to the WW Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the accident.
