On May 7, 2008 just before 10:30am the Ledyard Police Department attemtping to stop a motor vehicle on Robin Hood Drive in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard for motor vehicle violations. The vehicle operator sped through the neighborhood, driving across the lawn of a home and then jumped from the moving vehicle. The vehicle continued until it crashed into a tree on the property, while the operator ran into a home. After a short period of time, Police were able to remove the man from the home without incident.
Eric J. Snead, 31, of 47 Robinhood Drive, was charged with reckless driving, failure to obey an officer's signal, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer and excessive window tinting. He was held on $50,000 bond.
